Here we are at last. The Northern Wordsmiths blog is up and running. We’re still at the baby stage, teaching ourselves to toddle. Our Tech Gurus, in the guise of Ellen and Chelsea (Chairperson and Secretary, respectively), are blasting the keyboards to make sense of all the Computer Knowledge that’s needed to make it work sufficiently and efficiently.
Our Whizz-Kid and Treasurer, Liam, who baulked at the idea of an AI Logo, came up with this ‘Interesting Icon’ (exclusive to us), sans the help of the dreaded robots, who know not how to be human.
Can we coax our followers and subscribers to scribble the odd sentence or two in the comments section at the end of each story submission? If you readers could holler out some adjectives, we’d be obliged and delighted! You’ll get your reward in heaven! We may give you all a kick-start if we can persuade our own Stuart to run ‘Critic’s Corner’!
Click on one of the links and get cracking. Read, subscribe, comment, ENJOY.

We’re proud to welcome a brand-new addition to the authors’ spot on Northern Wordsmiths. She’s Lisa Marie Mottert. She’ll be submitting to the blog soon. She’s Sheila’s (competition-finder, scout, author) good friend and fellow writer from way back.
That’s another American author added to our band of bloggers, the other one being our dear Frank Duncan. Although we can’t meet up to ‘Sit and Write’, we keep in close touch via Northern Wordsmiths WhatsApp from the USA. “O, Say Can You See …”
Sheila would also like to share the cover of her upcoming short story collection, ‘Strange Tales Are These.‘
… and to Doctor Mike Hollows of New Writing North and Professional Writing Academy – THANKS FOR EVERYTHING.
Who are the Northern Wordmiths? In case you missed it, we caught up with this group of Fiction Foundations alumni (2024) who stayed connected after the course and continued to support one another in their writing. Find out more about their journey in this previous blog.
