Things to know

All our upcoming events are featured here, but you can sign up to our newsletter for regular updates about events and courses.

When you book a ticket to one of our live events, you’ll automatically be sent a Zoom link via Tixoom (the ticketing system we use). You’ll receive an email reminder of the details 24 hours before the event starts. If you can’t find this in your inbox, do check your junk-mail folder, then contact us if you still need help.

We record all our live events. If you buy a ticket to any of our workshops or Q&As, we’ll send you a link (usually 24 hours after the event) so you can watch the replay. This is available for a month.

Yes, we offer exclusive discounts, both for current students and alumni. Look out for details in your course or alumni forum and our monthly newsletter.

Our live workshops tend to run for two hours. This allows plenty of time for practical exercises, discussion and a Q&A at the end.

We run two types of workshops:

Webinar workshops – a presentation-style workshop with interactive elements including writing exercises, where you can share your thoughts and ask questions via the chat box. In a webinar workshop, you won’t see other participants or be included on the recording.

Group workshops – a more interactive, collaborative type of workshop with a limited number of places. These workshops may include breakout rooms, where you’ll have chance to discuss the topic in small groups, or share extracts from your writing. If you choose to have your camera on and/or share your thoughts verbally, your image and/or voice will be recorded.

What happens at a Q&A?

The guest will spend a few minutes introducing their work with our Q&A moderator, then it’s over to questions from the audience. So do bring your burning questions on your writing, their writing, the industry and anything else. Nothing is too big or small to discuss in these sessions.

Closed captions are available during sessions and recordings. For any other concerns relating to the accessibility of our events please check out our accessibility guidelines, accessible learning information, or contact our team for more detailed help and information.

We’re guided by your emerging needs as authors, so please get in touch to tell us who you’d like us to book for an event – and why.
