Story for Pitch Decks

The course

Make your pitches pop.

You’ve got a great idea and a script you think industry producers and execs should read. But how do you convince them?

Take your pitching to the next level and add pitch-deck creation to your skillset with this two day live professional development training.

Our tutors pitch their own scripts and factual ideas day-in day-out and will guide you step-by-step through the process. You’ll walk away with a template to use over and over and tweak to fit all your ideas, no matter what genre or format. Plus the reassurance that producers and commissioners will see your vision in the way you do.

This workshop is taught online. It runs on UK time, but everything is embedded and archived in an online classroom you can access 24/7 – so you can join us from anywhere in the world. The workshop is suitable for people pitching screenplays and documentary or factual ideas.

Accessible, industry-focused CPD training and consultancy for professionals at any stage of their career. Online learning led by BAFTA-winning John Yorke, author of bestselling book on story structure Into the Woods.

How it works

We give you the theory in the form of videos, podcasts, written lectures and reading extracts. In the case of our live workshops, this includes a live online seminar.

You put it into practice by completing the writing assignments.

You share your work with the small group of fellow writers and the teaching team.

Your tutor and fellow learners read your work and give professional-style feedback on your submission. Giving feedback notes helps to build your skills as an editor - a critical part of the writing process.

You reflect on the exercises with the group and share what you’ve learned.

You use what you learned from the feedback and discussions to review your work and improve it.
