Helen Stockton has been working with adult groups since 2000 when she first started working in Further Education. She includes writing for wellbeing as part of her general creative writing offer and has facilitated courses for the wider public and in mental health settings including her local hospice. She is also a writing mentor, helping writers to progress through long writing projects.
Helen trains creative writing tutors and writing for wellbeing facilitators, offering professional development opportunities. She has also trained counsellors, psychotherapists and coaches in using creative writing as part of their professional practise. She is a member of Lapidus International, the words for wellbeing organisation, the Society of Authors, and the National Association of Writers in Education, delivering at their conferences and contributing to their journals. She is also a freelance writer, having four published books including one on teaching creative writing.
