Piers Clifton is a screenwriter and producer specialising in family film and TV.
His first major screenwriting commission was a UK/Chinese CG animated movie script for Max Howard (producer of Igor and Executive Producer of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron). He went on to write a second screenplay for Max Howard, develop the feature-length comedy adventure Ruslan & Ludmila for Wizart Animation and work as a script and treatment writer for Blue Zoo Animation, including development on the pre-school series Big Tree City.
In 2019, Piers started woring for Tiny Island Productions – co-writing the animated movie Dream Defenders: Origins (based on the TV series) and writing for the animated films A Wizard’s Tale and LEGO Friends Girlz 4 Life. Piers was a Creative Producer at Prime Focus World Animation for four years – and Animation Producer on shows including LEGO Legends of Chima and LEGO Nexo Knights.
Previous to this, Pier worked in TV Comedy and Entertainment (during which time he produced shows like The British Comedy Awards), both script editing and writing. He is an experienced development producer, with a background in TV/film development at companies including Prime Focus, Princess Productions, Unique Television and Wall To Wall.
Piers is an Oxford University English graduate. As well as teaching story structure for John Yorke Story, he is a tutor in TV programme development and story development at Ravensbourne University London.
